Joining BAM

If you are already a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, and want to join BAM as a full member, then DOWNLOAD THE FULL MEMBER APPLICATION FORM, and complete and return it with your payment as described on the form.

If you are not yet a member of the IAM, and you would like to join BAM and prepare for and take the IAM test, then the process is:

[1] Buy "Skill for Life" from the IAM (or call 020-8996-9600). This pays for a voucher to join any local Group, your advanced driving test (once you are ready to take it) and your first years membership of the IAM once youve passed the test.

[2] IAM will write to you. They will include a list of local Groups, and you contact which one you want to join, and take it from there. If youre not sure which Group is best for you, talk to them about how they work, where their meetings are, whether they have a waiting list etc to help you decide.
